'Nelson Mandela said that "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Dr Natarajan has done nothing short of following and mastering that mindset with one of the biggest passions seen in the world of optometry and Ophthalmology. The commitment, the gumption, the heart and the soul he puts into the work he does is a page that everyone should take out of his book, along with his extremely rare attitude towards how he sees the world, with a positive mind and a grateful heart.

Having performed over 65,000 Vitreo Retinal surgeries ( highest an Eye surgeon has done in the world) over 41 years that brought the joy of seeing the world clearly for the first time, or again to so many people, and leading impactful organizations like the Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society and the Vitreo Retinal Society of India, he's personally helped so many connect with the beauty around them. Along with this, he's developed medicine for several retinal disorders, trained 68 vitreoretinal surgeons worldwide, is still mentoring earlier career ophthalmologists.

 

Being someone who is blindly invested in the art of Philanthropy, having been introduced to his several initiatives, from his regular eye camps in the slums of Mumbai, to the newly developed start of "a Blind Free India" has done nothing but peaked my interest in being able to have the opportunity to work with him and take ideas like this as far as they can go and reach out to the millions.

I am honored to have been able to see him work first hand at the age of 12, witnessing a cornea transplant, and now have the opportunity to be able to help him achieve a "Blind Free India" at the age of 20 with the help of Thera Family. I deeply appreciate and thank Dr Natarajan for all his honest and heartfelt work. I can't wait to see what he does next, I wish him all the best.'
